Mental health: from a great cause to the test of time

On the occasion of Mental Health Week, Brain&Mind is joining forces with a collective opinion piece published in Libération et Porté with the Institut Montaigne and the National Federation of French Mutuality (FNMF) to recall a strong conviction: mental health must remain a national cause beyond symbols and timelines.

Despite awareness-raising efforts, stigma persists and access to care all too often remains an obstacle course. The numbers are clear:

- 13 million French people suffer from psychological disorders
- 75% appear before the age of 24
- 70% adhere to a stereotype about mental health.

The response must be collective and sustainable: train, prevent, support, support, destigmatize, support actors in the field and build a coherent public policy over the long term.
